Las Vegas Visitation Trends
In January, visitation to Las Vegas experienced a decline of 2.2%, marking the smallest reduction in a year. This trend reflects a stabilization in tourism compared to previous months in 2025, supported by a robust convention calendar and reported hotel occupancy.
The number of visitors in January was 3.26 million, a decrease from 3.34 million in January 2025. Comparatively, visitation fell only 3.5% from 3.38 million in January 2024.
Convention Attendance
During January, Las Vegas hosted several conventions, including CES, which attracted 672,100 attendees—nearly a 7% increase over January 2025. Specific attendance figures for key events include:
- CES: 148,000 attendees
- World of Concrete: 58,000 attendees
- SHOT Show: 53,000 attendees
Hotel Occupancy Rates
The hotel occupancy rate was recorded at 79.5%, a decrease of 2.4 points. For context, occupancy was 78.9% in January 2024, indicating a slight recovery.
Occupancy details include:
- Weekend occupancy: 83.1%, down from 85.6% a year ago
- Midweek occupancy: 77.5%, down from 80.1%
- Strip occupancy: 82.9%, down from 85%, compared to 81.7% in January 2024
- Downtown occupancy: 64.2%, down from 71.3% last year
Room Rates and Revenue
The average daily room rates were reported as follows:
- Strip: $216, up from $201 in January 2025 and $204 in January 2024
- Downtown: $100, an increase from $95 in January 2025 and consistent with $100 in January 2024
Meanwhile, the revenue per room figures showed:
- Strip revenue per room: $179, up from $171 in January 2025 and $167 in January 2024
- Downtown revenue per room: $64, a decrease from $68, down from $66.55 in January 2024
Vehicle Traffic Changes
Vehicle traffic between California and Nevada saw a decline of 1% in January, while traffic between Nevada and Arizona decreased by 3%.
